Tom has seen much critical acclaim in his short writing career winning the Diverse Voices award for his first novel Too Much Trouble and being longlisted for the Carnegie Medal for his third novel My Brother’s Shadow.
He is a school teacher and lives in Amsterdam with his family. A descendant of the notorious pirate Henry Avery, when he’s not writing you’ll find him building elaborate Lego structures with his sons.
